Access Granted

In late 2013 I designed this immersive companion experience to the original series Helix, a dark suspense that follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control as they investigate a deadly outbreak at a remote arctic research facility. With new content available each week as the season progressed, the site gave viewers a chance to explore the facility and uncover secrets that could expose what's really going on at Arctic Biosystems.

01 | Immersive Interface

Users could navigate the Arctic Biosystems facility by selecting a camera feed and panning around each room to unearth clickable elements that contained clues to the nature of their research and the source of the outbreak there.

02 | Content Drops

Aside from what they found exploring, the user could access an intranet interface in which return visitors were rewarded with leaked files from an unknown source each week. But who? And what did they want?
