The Citizen's Handbook: An Introduction to Vega

In early 2014 I worked with Tanka on this interactive introduction to the world of Dominion, an original series set in the aftermath of a massive angelic invasion, a follow up to the 2010 film Legion. Released in weekly installments as the series aired, the guide gave viewers a window into life in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, now known as Vega, its history and the pasts of some of the show's central figures. I did some logo, icon and graphic element design and provided visual and creative direction to the Tanka team, who beautifully executed a rich, responsive user experience.

01 | Identity

We spent a little time working up branding and layout ideas before handoff. I liked some of the logo thinking that didn’t make it past this initial phase.

02 | Layout

The guide was divided into ten chapters, each a multisection scroll-centered experience. A throughline of animation punctuated a clean, very stylized graphic layout as users moved through each chapter. This and a series of interactive infographics kept the user engaged throughout.
